What are the services available at NCMH?

We provide a number of services related to mental health.

  • A day-care programme for people under treatment for psychiatric illnesses.
  • A residential facility for individual with long term psychiatrc illnesses.Â
  • Counselling.
  • Information and training programmes on mental health.

Can we consult a Psychiatrist at NCMH?

No, we do not conduct an out-patient clinic at the moment.
However clients who attend the day care centre at Borella would be referred to our visiting Consultant Psychiatrist for reviewing, as and when necessary.

Are residential facilities available at NCMH for clients with long-term psychiatric illnesses?

Residential facilities are provided at NCMH Centre at Gorakana, Panadura. The Borella resource centre conducts a day-care programme, aiming to rehabilitate clients.

When can we come to NCMH?

NCMH is open from Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 4.30pm, except on poya days and mercantile holidays.
